Porsche clearly takes the position that they never thought that these cars would be still be on the road 25 years later, never mind today, which only speaks volumes for the quality of engineering and craftsmanship that went into bringing us the 911.
Porsche are now offering a body restoration service in Germany with prices hovering around the £100,000 mark, which has kick started them into re-manufacturing many of the parts that where not available a few years ago. At Wass we only use parts from Porsche and their original suppliers.
ORIGINAL ENGINES, TRANSMISSIONS, PANELS AND RARE PARTS.
Over the years we have collected a range of original spares, so if you are looking for that rare bit, contact us or visit our ebay shop.
At Wass, Classic Porsche Restoration (Reg. Co. 1965 Ltd.) we make the effort to offer a restoration service several classes above the usual, with over 35 years experience of repairing and restoring these machines. We have fully restored over 100 Porsche 911 models for customers from all four corners of the world, and carried out work on over 500 911 models from 1965-1996.
Over the years we have learnt that you can never rush restoring these cars, so we decided to downsize our operation and moved into a counrty-side barn in Sussex to escape the rat race and get back the joy of preserving these machines perfectly.
Full services and MOTs on all Porsche Models. As well as the restoration service, we also offer collision repair on all Porsche cars up to the latest 991 model. We will deal with all aspects of the repair including all paper work and liaising with your insurance company.
The fact that you own or are just obsessed by Porsche means you must be excited by speed, as am I.
I have been interested in motor racing since the age of six, watching racing as a boy at local race circuits of Aintree and Oulton Park.
We started building race cars for many individuals and well known race teams in 1989, with many wins in those early years, it was clear that if you provide a perfect straight strong chassis, then the race engineer would be able to set up the suspension for perfect handling and weight distribution, giving the car and driver an advantage over the rest of the grid.
"We Joined up with Pickup Motorsport in 1991 to provided them solely with chassis for all their race cars and ended up working with them until 2004.
In total we have been involved in the building of 38 race cars with over 150 wins & 300 podium finishes.
Including three times competing at the Le Man 24 HOURS, four Daytona Rolex 24 HOURS, and three full seasons in The American Le Man series.
....and in series such as the Porsche Super cup, Porsche Cup, Porsche Classic, Privilege GT, FIA European GT, Ending with the ALMS series.
Ranging from 1965 911s to 2004 GT3 RS for the ALMS series with a few 356, 914, 924, 944, 968, models thrown in for good measure.
We have campaigned in racing in the UK, Europe, Asia, North America & Canada.
We also provided chassis for overseas customers from Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, and countless European counties.
So if we can help a race team win championship after championship with cars capable of up to 200 mph. Imagine what we can do for your road car."

DISMANTLE
Your car is inspected before dismantling, once strip down has started every component removed is inspected, cleaned, and a report raised to include notes for any further work needed to each component, All fasteners and threaded components are cleaned and re-plated in original supplied finish, before being boxed and securely shelved until reassemble.
Once the shell is completely stripped bare, it is submerged in an Organic substance to remove all paint and under body coatings. As the Stripping substance is not an acid and not corrosive to steel this may take up to three weeks in the tank to remove all of the body coatings. Depending on the severity of the corrosion to your Porsche we will decide at what point to electronically e-coat your chassis and body.
METAL FABRICATION
Key to the quality of our fabrication, is that we are one of the few workshops worldwide that own the individual official Porsche Jigs for classic models from the 356 through to 993s.
Thus all restoration is carried out on the Porsche Body/Chassis Jig, ensuring a perfectly straight chassis giving your 911 or 912 perfect weight distribution and handling. Great care is also taken to achieve perfect panel alignment and body gaps.
All welding is carried out using Porsche approved welding equipment. Bodywork & the chassis are then protected using the latest paint technology.
